Wolves beat Winterhawks, game vs Minto postponed
The Ripley Wolves improved to 14-0 on the season on Friday night, heading on the road to defeat the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks 6-3.
Due to weather, Saturday night's game in Palmerston against the Minto 81s was postponed until a later date.
In Port Elgin, the Wolves erupted for four goals in the second period on their way to the victory. Goals were scored by Garrett Meurs (2), Todd Hellyer, Dawson Fahrer, Cody Britton, and Ethan Skinner.
Assists went to Fahrer (2), Jarred Colling, Tyson Soers, Brett Catto, Drew Davidson, Derek Skinner, Kaden Hoggarth, Ethan Skinner, Hellyer and Britton.
Jason Hamilton stopped 28 of 31 shots for the win in the Wolves net.
The Wolves have busy weekends from here to season's end, and will travel to Thornbury on Friday, Jan. 10, to face the Applekings at 8:30 p.m. They return home on Saturday, Jan. 11, to host the Milverton Four Wheel Drives, with puck drop at 7 p.m.
