Wolves can't complete sweep vs Saugeen Shores
The Ripley Wolves are up 3-1 on the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks in their semi-final series after splitting games on the weekend.

On Friday night, the Wolves played a strong defensive game, backstopped by goalie Jason Hamilton, on their way to a 3-1 victory and setting up a sweep opportunity on Saturday night.

Dan Nicoloff scored twice, while Tyson Soers added an empty-netter to seal it. Assists went to Tyler McCarty (2), Gerrit Satosek, Dawson Fahrer, Todd Hellyer and Pat Looby.

Hamilton was solid between the pipes, stopping 29 of 30 shots for the win.

On Saturday night in Port Elgin, the Wolves threw everything they could at the Hawks goalie, counting 38 shots after two periods and 46 in total, but it was the home team that made the most of their 29 opportunities, staving off elimination with a 6-1 win.

It was the first regulation time loss of the season for the Wolves, who were without a number of line-up regulars for the second night in a row.

Jarred Colling scored Ripley's lone marker, with Evan Visser notching the assist.

The series, which Ripley now leads 3-1, returns home to The Den on Friday, March 14, with an 8:30 p.m. puck drop. Game 6, if necessary, will be Sunday, March 16, at 8 p.m. in Port Elgin.
