Wolves down Lucknow 4-0
The Ripley Wolves will enter 2025 with a perfect 13-0 record and a three-point lead atop the Ontario Elite Hockey League standings after a 4-0 win in Lucknow on Saturday night.
The Wolves controlled the play all night, outshooting the Lancers 39-15, with goals from Gerrit Satosek, Tyson Soers, Garrett Meurs, and Dan Nicoloff.
Assists went to Cody Britton (2), Todd Hellyer (2), Kaden Hoggarth, Alex Kuntz, Soers and Nicoloff.
Jason Hamilton was perfect when called upon in the Wolves net for his first shutout of the season. Hamilton leads all goaltenders with more than two games played with a sparkling .940 save percentage.
The win also means the Wolves are the first team to clinch a playoff berth, according to the OEHL's Twitter account.
The Wolves have a big weekend to kick off 2025, when they travel to Saugeen Shores to face the 9-8 Winterhawks on Friday, Jan. 3, at 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, Jan. 4, they head to Palmerston to face the defending champion 81s at 8 p.m.
The Wolves return home on Jan. 11 against the Milverton Four Wheel Drives, with puck drop at 7 p.m. Game sponsors are Acacia Fine Cabinetry and Ripley Pharmacy.
