Wolves comeback to beat Seaforth 5-4 in home opener
The Ripley Wolves and Seaforth Centenaires put on an entertaining show for the large hometown crowd Saturday night in Ripley to kickoff the 2024-25 season. The Wolves stumbled out of the gate Saturday night and showed some off season rust as they were down 3-0 after the first period.

The second period was a different story as the Wolves came out strong and the got an early goal less than a minute into the period by Todd Hellyer with Ethan Skinner and Evan Visser picking up assists. A couple minutes later the Wolves scored again to get within one on a goal from Kaden Hoggarth assisted by Dan Nicoloff and Garrett Meurs. The score would remain 3-2 for Seaforth heading into the final period.

Seaforth went back up by two goals midway through the 3rd but again the Wolves had an answer less then a minute later by a goal from Ethan Skinner assisted by Visser and Hellyer to keep the Wolves within one, now down 4-3. Jared Colling got the game tying goal a few minutes later assisted by Gerrit Satosek and the Wolves grabbed the 5-4 lead late in the third with captain Garrett Meurs putting one in the net with assists going to Derek Skinner and Dan Nicoloff.

The final 2 minutes Seaforth poured on the pressure but were unable to get one past Wolves goalie Jason Hamilton who stopped 23 shots for the win.
