Wolves dominate in 5-2 win over Saugeen Shores
The Ripley Wolves threw everything but the kitchen sink at the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks net on Saturday night, on their way to a big 5-2 win.
The Wolves outshot the undermanned Hawks 51-28 and got contributions up and down the line-up with goals from Gerritt Satosek (2), Ethan Skinner, Garrett Meurs and Dan Nicoloff.
Assists went to Jarred Colling (2), Meurs (2), Mike Howes, Tyson Soers, Cody Britton, Derek Skinner, and Kaden Hoggarth.
Jason Hamilton got the win in the Wolves net.
The Wolves remain in first place in the Ontario Elite Hockey League with a 10-1-3 record for 23 points, while Creemore has 19, and Saugeen Shores, Durham and Minto were all tied for third overall with 17 points before Sunday's games. Both Creemore and Durham were in action Sunday afternoon, burning one of the games in hand they have on Ripley.
The Wolves are now off for Christmas break and resume play on Saturday, Dec. 30, in Lucknow at 7:30 p.m. They're next home on Saturday, Jan. 6, at 7 p.m. Game sponsors are Current Electric and Lippert Trucking.
