Wolves down Milverton 6-1 on Meurs, Skinner hat-tricks
The Ripley Wolves maintained their lead atop the Ontario Elite Hockey League standings with a dominating 6-1 win over Milverton on Saturday night.
The Wolves outshot the Four Wheel Drives 59-19, yet trailed 1-0 after the first period. Over the second and third periods Garrett Meurs and Ethan Skinner scored matching hat-tricks, while the team landed 45 shots on Milverton's net, to cruise to the victory.
Assisting on the Meurs and Skinner hatties were Dan Nicoloff (3), Nick Seiler (2), Todd Hellyer, Cody Britton, Rob White, Skinner, and Brett Catto, the Wolves great who made his return on Saturday from a one-season retirement.
Jacob Abbott got the victory in the Wolves net, turning aside 18 of 19 shots.
