Wolves down Lucknow 7-0 in home opener
The Ripley Wolves put on a clinic for a great crowd at the home opener on Saturday night, downing Lucknow 7-0.

The Wolves jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first and it was never in doubt from there, as they controlled play and outshot the Lancers 40-19.

Seven different Wolves found the twine, including Todd Hellyer, Kyle Durrer, Dan Nicoloff, Chris Coady Tyson Soers, Cody Britton and Ethan Skinner.

Assists went to Garrett Meurs (3), Pat Looby (2), Mike Howes, Zach Merpaw, Rob White, Britton, Skinner and Durrer.

Jason Hamilton – the all-time leader in shutouts in the now-defunct WOAA Senior A League – got his first shutout in the new Ontario Elite Hockey League.

Thanks again to the game's sponsor, Ripley Physical Therapy and Wellness, as well as the Ripley Legion for selling 50/50 tickets.

The Wolves are in Seaforth on Saturday, Nov. 4, for a 7:30 p.m. puck drop. On Sunday, Nov. 5, they're home for a rematch of last year's championship final vs Tavistock. Puck drops at 4 p.m. It's Tyke Night and the opportunity to meet the Wolves after the first period, so bring the kids to meet their local hockey heroes!

Game sponsor will be J. Murray Trucking and Peter's Pork.
