Winterhawks force Game 6 with a 5-3 win
The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks aren't going away quietly and the Wolves will need to win on the road on Saturday night to avoid a Game 7 on Tuesday.

Saugeen scored just 27 seconds into the game and Ripley chased from there, managing to end the frame tied 2-2. Ripley goals were scored by Adam Alexander and Cody Britton, assisted by Garrett Meurs, Derek Skinner, Ryan Shaw and Ethan Skinner.

The Wolves took the lead early in the second on a goal by Jarred Colling, from Tyson Soers and Gerrit Satosek, but could only hold it for seven minutes, when Saugeen tied it up.

With 8:53 left in the third, the Winterhawks gained a lead they wouldn't relinquish, and added another just a few minutes later.

Jason Hamilton faced 33 shots while Ripley fired 37 on Saugeen's net.

Game 6 is Saturday night, March 11, in Port Elgin, at 9 p.m.

If necessary, Game 7 will be Tuesday night, March 14, in Ripley, at 8:30 p.m.
