Wolves take 2-0 series lead
The Ripley Wolves grabbed a 2-0 series lead with a 4-1 win over the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks on Saturday night in Port Elgin.
The line of Ryan Shaw, Ethan Skinner and Cody Britton led the way with each scoring a goal and adding two assists, before Jarred Colling sealed the game late in the third, from Tyson Soers and Tyler McCarthy.
Jason Hamilton was stellar, stopping 42 or 43 shots for the Wolves, while Ripley fired 27 at the Winterhawks' net.
Game 3 returns to Port Elgin on Friday night, March 3, with an 8:30 start. Game 4 is Saturday night, March 4, in Ripley, at 7:30 p.m.
In the other semi-final, the first place Seaforth Centenaires bounced back from a Game 1 loss to down Tavistock 2-1 in Game 2, knotting that series at 1s.
