Wolves drop 5-1 decision to Winterhawks
The Ripley Wolves are heading into the Christmas break on a low after dropping a 5-1 decision to the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks on Dec. 17.
It was a tight contest through two periods, with the Hawks up 1-0 before Adam Alexander tied it up for the Wolves early in the third period. Assists went to Evan Visser and Cody Britton.
The ice tilted in the Winterhawks' direction soon after, as they potted two goals in less than two minutes, to put the Wolves on the ropes, and added two more in the final eight minutes to put the game out of reach.
Jason Hamilton took the loss for the Wolves.
The Wolves will now take some time off for the holidays and return to action on Friday, Jan. 6, at 8:30 p.m. in Port Elgin. They return to Ripley on Saturday, Jan. 7, to host the Milverton 4-Wheel Drives at 7 p.m. Game sponsor is Greenfield Global.
