Six-goal game from Meurs paces Wolves to four-point weekend
A six-goal game from Captain Garrett Meurs topped off a big two-win weekend for the Ripley Wolves.
The Wolves came from behind to steal a win in Creemore on Saturday night, by a 6-5 count.
Goal scorers were Adam Alexander (2), Ethan Skinner, Jarred Colling, Nick Seiler, and Garrett Meurs. Assists went to Cody Britton (4), Derek Skinner (2), Ryan Shaw (2), Meurs (2), Rob White, and Seiler.
Jason Hamilton picked up the win in the Wolves net.
On Sunday afternoon in Lucknow, Meurs absolutely dominated our cross-township rivals, netting a first period hat-trick, added one in the second, and two more in the third to finish with six goals in a 9-3 Wolves win.
Other scorers were Evan Visser (2) and E. Skinner.
Assists went to Alexander (3), E. Skinner (3), Britton (2), Chase Meurs (2), Gerritt Satosek, Tyson Soers, D. Skinner, and Colling.
Mark Whalen back-stopped the Wolves to the win.
The four-point weekend moves the Wolves into second place in the league with a 7-3 record and 16 points. They trail the league-leading Seaforth Centenaires by six points, but have played two fewer games.
