Wolves, Clinton split weekend games
Saturday night was essentially do or die for the Ripley Wolves and they came through with a huge 4-1 win in front of a huge home crowd.
The Wolves, down 2-0 in the series after a 3-2 loss in Clinton on Friday night, persevered through the visitors' stifling defence and battled for every inch of ice in a hard-checking, highly entertaining game.
Wolves scorers were Logan Swanton, Dan Nicoloff, Garrett Meurs, and Jarred Colling. Assists went to Brett Catto (2), Cody Britton, Alex Kuntz, Jarrett Kuntz, Gerritt Satosek, Tyler McCarthy, and Meurs.
Jason Hamilton stood tall in the Wolves net.
On Friday night, Ripley travelled to Clinton for Game 2 and came up short by a 3-2 score.
Ripley scorers were Britton and Swanton, with assists going to Alex Kuntz, Catto and McCarthy.
The Wolves now trail the series 2-1, and travel to Clinton on Friday, March 11, for an 8:30 p.m. puck drop. Game 5 will be in Ripley on Saturday, March 12, at 7 p.m. Game sponsors are Edwards Jones/Jim Scott, Norfolk Industries, and MacAdams Convenience.
