Wolves and 81's series tied 2-2
After a tough loss on home ice on Friday night, Captain Garrett Meurs netted the overtime winner in Game 4 on the road to knot the North Division final at two games apiece.
On Friday night, Minto's special teams were the star of the show, piling up three powerplay goals and a shorthanded game-winner on their way to a 6-2 win in Ripley.
Ethan Skinner scored both Ripley goals, assisted by Kaden Hoggarth and Meurs.
Jason Hamilton stopped 24 of 29 shots, while Minto's sixth goal was scored into an empty net.
In Game 4 on Saturday in Listowel, the Wolves had 1-0 and 2-1 leads, but needed overtime to tie up the series. Goal scorers were Keaton McLaughlin, Cody Britton, and Meurs in OT. Assists went to Matthew Murray, Hoggarth, Skinner, and Britton.
Hamilton held the fort as Minto outshot Ripley by a 40-30 count.
Ripley will look to be the first team to win on home ice in this series in Game 5 on Friday night, at 8:30 p.m. Game 6 goes Saturday in Palmerston at 6:30 p.m. If necessary, Game 7 will be Tuesday night in Ripley at 8:30 p.m.
In the South Division, Seaforth won Game 2 vs Elora in triple overtime to tie their series at ones. The winner of the South will face either Ripley or Minto for the Ontario Elite Hockey League championship.
