Wolves sweep Shelburne in first round
The Ripley Wolves completed a first-round sweep of the Shelburne Muskies with a 12-7 win on the road on Friday and a 3-2 win on home ice on Saturday.
On Friday night, the goals poured in for both sides though the Wolves managed to keep distance between their opponents all night on their way to the 12-7 win.
Kaden Hoggarth had a hat-trick, while Carter Servais had two goals, and Wilson Shipp, JD Falconer, Dawson Fahrer, Tyson Soers, Dan Nicoloff, Ethan Skinner, and Christian Monachino all had singles.
Assists went to Falconer (3), Pat Looby (2), Servais (2), Hoggarth (2), Skinner (2), Logan Swanton, Derek Skinner, Matthew Murray, Monachino, and Fahrer.
Garrett Golley stopped 32 of 39 shots for the win.
On Saturday night, the Wolves looked to close out the series on home ice and managed to do that with a tight 3-2 win.
Craig McKague, Cody Britton and Monachino scored for the Wolves on their way to the series-closing win. Assists went to Jordan Beisel, Garrett Meurs, Hoggarth, Falconer and Servais.
Jason Hamilton clinched the win in the Wolves net.
