Wolves split weekend games
The Ripley Wolves split two homes games this weekend, losing to Elmvale on Saturday night and downing Lucknow on Sunday afternoon.

The Wolves and the Elmvale Harvesters played a very fast and entertaining game on Saturday night, but the bounces and at least three shots wired off posts and crossbars didn't go Ripley's way in a 4-1 loss.

JD Falconer scored the lone Wolves goal on an absolutely gorgeous pass from Jordan Moulton, with the second assist going to Garrett Meurs.

Jason Hamilton did all he could to hold off the third-place Harvesters, but took the loss in the Wolves net.

On Sunday afternoon, the Wolves welcomed the Lucknow Lancers into the Den and came out with a 5-2 victory.

Ethan Skinner led the way for the Wolves with two goals, while singles went to Cody Britton, Christian Monachino, and Kaden Hoggarth. Assists went to Carter Servais (2), Britton (2), Dawson Fahrer, Monachino, Moulton, Meurs, Skinner, and Hoggarth.

Garrett Golley stopped 19 of 21 shots for the win in the Wolves net.

It's a battle for first overall on Friday, Jan. 16, when the Wolves travel to Durham to face the Thundercats. Puck drops at 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, Ripley will host Shelburne at 7 p.m. Game sponsors are Ripley Physical Therapy and Wellness and Sheridan Hair Design.
