The Ripley Wolves withstood a barrage of hits and chippy play on their way to a 4-2 win over the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks on Saturday night, in Kincardine.
The Wolves got goals from Nick Seiler and Garrett Meurs (2), as well as an empty netter from Nick Locking, while Jason Hamilton was stellar in net as Ripley took two points in what can only be described as a throw-back game. The Winterhawks clearly had a game plan to hit anything that moved, and took all the rope the refs provided them, during the highly entertaining game.
Assists went to Tyson Soers (2), Mike Osadca, Jeff Alcombrack and Locking.
The Wolves head to Durham on Jan. 4, for an 8:30 p.m. start, and then host Elora on Saturday, Jan. 5, at 7 p.m. It’s Tyke Night, and sponsored by the Best Western Governor’s Inn and Presto Crest.
