Wolves beat Winterhawks 4-2

The Ripley Wolves withstood a barrage of hits and chippy play on their way to a 4-2 win over the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks on Saturday night, in Kincardine.

The Wolves got goals from Nick Seiler and Garrett Meurs (2), as well as an empty netter from Nick Locking, while Jason Hamilton was stellar in net as Ripley took two points in what can only be described as a throw-back game. The Winterhawks clearly had a game plan to hit anything that moved, and took all the rope the refs provided them, during the highly entertaining game.

Assists went to Tyson Soers (2), Mike Osadca, Jeff Alcombrack and Locking.

The Wolves head to Durham on Jan. 4, for an 8:30 p.m. start, and then host Elora on Saturday, Jan. 5, at 7 p.m. It’s Tyke Night, and sponsored by the Best Western Governor’s Inn and Presto Crest.

Wolves defeat Lucknow 10-3

The Ripley Wolves skated away with a 10-3 win over their cross-township rivals on Friday night.

Wolves goals were scored by Cody Britton (2), Garrett Meurs (2), Jarred Colling, Pat Looby, Keaton Willis, Rob White, Dan Nicoloff, and Blake Nichol.

Assists went to Brett Catto (2), Britton (2), Tyson Soers (2), Nick Seiler (2), Dylan Sayle, Gerrit Satosek, Payton Dunlop, Nicoloff, Nichol, Willis, and White.

Kurt Edwards cruised to the win in the Wolves net.

The Wolves will face the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks on Saturday, Dec. 22, in Kincardine. The game is at 5 p.m., and will be followed by the Kincardine Jr. Bulldogs vs the Wingham Ironmen.

Wolves defeat Tillsonburg 8-1

The Ripley Wolves bounced back from their overtime loss on Saturday night with an 8-1 trouncing of Tillsonburg on Sunday afternoon.

Wolves goals were scored by Brett Catto (2), Cody Britton, Paul Stewart, Shawn Stewart, Tyler McCarthy, Dylan Sayle, and Ryan Dudgeon.

Assists went to Tyson Soers (3), Keaton Willis, Garrett Meurs, Shawn Stewart, Jarred Colling, Britton, McCarthy (2), Patrick Looby (2), Nick Seiler and Paul Stewart.

Ryan MacDonald got the win in the Wolves net.

The Wolves visit Lucknow on Friday, Dec. 21, for an 8:30 p.m. start. On Saturday, Dec. 22, we will face the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks at Kincardine’s Davidson Centre, with a 5 p.m. puck drop. The Jr. C Bulldogs will play after the Wolves, and a beer gardens will follow.

The Ripley Wolves couldn’t hold onto their 2-1 lead in the last minute of the third, and fell 3-2 to Mapleton-Minto in overtime on Saturday night.

Blake Nichol and Dan Nicoloff scored for the Wolves in the first and second periods respectively, with assists going to Brett Catto, Cody Britton, Pat Looby, and Jarred Colling.

Jason Hamilton was in the Wolves net and helped the team bring a point home from Palmerston. The OT loss allowed Clinton to leapfrog Ripley for the league lead, 26 points to 25.

The Wolves host Tillsonburg today, Sunday, Dec. 16, at 3 p.m. It’s Tyke Day with our future Wolves playing between the first and second periods. It’s also Caesar Sunday, so pop into the Den for a pick-me-up. Game sponsor is Lippert Trucking.

Wolves down Milverton 7-0

The Ripley Wolves handed Milverton a 7-0 loss on Saturday night.

Thanks to everyone who donated to the Gord Downie Foundation for Brain Cancer Research in honour of Wayne Britton, father of Wolves forward Cody, who lost his battle earlier this year.

The Wolves have a two-game weekend coming up, when they travel to Palmerston to face Mapleton-Minto on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m. They are then home for a rare Sunday afternoon tilt vs Tillsonburg on Sunday, Dec. 16, at 3 p.m. It’s Tyke Day, so come cheer on the future Wolves between periods. Wolves beat Lucknow, Petrolia

The Ripley Wolves enjoyed a two-win weekend as they defeated Lucknow and Petrolia by scores of 7-1 and 9-5 respectively.

The Wolves are now in sole possession of first place with 22 points, two up on Clinton (though the Radars have two games in hand).

On Friday in Lucknow, Brett Catto led the way with two goals and three assists. Other scorers were Gerrit Satosek (2), Dan Nicoloff, Blake Nichol and Rob White. Assists went to Cody Britton (3), Catto (3), Garrett Meurs (2), Payton Dunlop, Tyson Soers, Nick Seiler, and White.

Jason Hamilton got the win in the Wolves net.

On Saturday night, the Wolves hosted the third-place Petrolia Squires. Brent Walton had a huge night, denting the twine four times. Other goals were scored by Ben Scheel (2), Britton, Satosek, and Nicoloff.

Assists went to Nicoloff (3), Seiler (2), Ben Hughes (2), Keaton Willis, Britton, Satosek, Jeff Alcombrack (2), Soers (2), Catto, Ryan Dudgeon, and Hamilton.

Kurt Edwards and Hamilton split the duties in the Wolves net.

The Wolves host Milverton on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 7 p.m. It’s the Team Jersey Challenge, so the local hockey team with the most players wearing their jersey will win a pizza party!
