The Ripley Wolves got back in the win column with a 5-1 win over Shelburne on Saturday night.
Garrett Meurs got the Wolves on the board just 20 seconds into the game, and that was followed by a Ben Hughes natural hat-trick – he scored one in each period. Brett Catto netted the fifth Wolves’ goal.
Assists on the Meurs goal went to Gerrit Satosek and Jeff Alcombrack; helpers for the Hughes hat-trick were Dan Nicoloff and Catto; Meurs and Nicoloff; and Satosek and Keaton Willis. Hughes finished off his four-point night by assisting on Catto’s goal.
Jason Hamilton’s shutout bid ended with just over a minute remaining in the game, as he cruised to the win.
The Wolves travel to cross-township rival Lucknow on Friday, Nov. 30, for an 8:30 start, and then host Petrolia on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. It’s Tyke Night, so come cheer on our future Wolves as they play a game between periods.
Game sponsor is Ripley Variety.
Yuk Yuks Night another success
Friday was the Wolves second annual Christmas Dinner and Yuk Yuks Night, and it was another sold out show! Thanks to everyone who attended, Chris Davey and his staff at the township for their hard work in setting up the hall, and Jessica Catto and Natalie Meekins for a long shift behind the bar.
This fundraiser is an important one for the team, so thanks for being part of it again this year!
