Wolves win season opener 7-3

The Ripley Wolves overcame a two-goal deficit to win their season opener 7-3 in Port Elgin on Saturday night.

The Wolves scored six unanswered in the second and third periods, after trailing 3-1 after the first. Goals were scored by Tyson Soers (2), Gerrit Satosek, Garrett Meurs, Dylan Sayle, Dan Nicoloff, and Cody Britton. Assists went to Patrick Looby (2), Nicoloff, Britton, Brent Walton (2), Satosek, Tyler McCarthy, Meurs, Robert White, Sayle, and Nick Seiler.

Ryan MacDonald got the win in the Wolves net.

Ripley travels to Elora on Friday night and then hosts Durham on Saturday night as part of Hockey Day in Ripley, which will see the Kincardine Bulldogs play at 4 p.m., followed by the Wolves at 7 p.m.

Friday night is also the first monthly Quiz Night of the 2018-19 season. The BYOB event is held the second Friday of the month, at the Ripley Curling Club, at 8 p.m. Bring your team of 8 for a fun night of trivia!
