A three-goal third period paced the Ripley Wolves to a 5-2 win over the Shallow Lake Crushers on Dec. 2.

The Wolves, now 8-2 and in third place in the WOAA Senior A league, got goals from Brent Walton (2), Brett Catto, Cody Britton and Patrick Weijak. Assists went to Britton, Nick Seiler (2), Brian Stanley, Mike Osadca, Alex MacLeod and goalie Kurt Edwards, who also had 39 saves in the win.

The two goals give Walton, who spent last season as the Wolves assistant coach while he rehabbed an injury, 13 in just five games this season.

It’s a busy weekend for the Wolves, as they host their third Quiz Night at 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, at the Ripley Curling Club. Gather a few friends and try to unseat last month’s champions! It’s bring your own refreshments, age of majority and $20/player, with a maximum of eight per team. If you don’t have enough to form a full team, we’ll be happy to find you some people to play with!

The Wolves then travel to Lucknow on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. and then a Sunday contest in Tillsonburg at 5:15 p.m. They don’t return home until Saturday, Dec. 23, when they host Lucknow on Ugly Sweater Net at the Wolves Den.

The Wolves Executives also thanks their players and all Ripley residents who donated to our food drive on Dec. 2.
