Wolves beat Tavistock, lose in Shallow Lake

The Wolves left a couple of points on the table this weekend when they lost 4-3 to Shallow Lake on Friday night, but they bounced back for a big 7-3 win over Tavistock, a perennial contender in the Senior A hockey league.

The game sheet from Shallow Lake is not available.

On Saturday night a good crowd saw some high-speed, entertaining hockey. Tavistock scored just two minutes into the game, but Jarred Colling tied it up six minutes later, from Gerritt Satosek and Mike Osadca.

Tavistock quickly took the lead again, only to have Brent Walton – last year’s assistant coach who is now healthy enough to play after his career in Europe was cut short due to injury – tie it up again before the period was out. Assists went to Cody Britton and Osadca.

Tavistock took their final lead of the game five minutes into the second, only to have Britton tie it up just 50 seconds later, from Brett Catto and Walton. From there, it was all Wolves, with Walton scoring twice on the powerplay to complete his hat trick with assists going to Catto (2), Ryan Dudgeon and Britton.

Patrick Weijak put the Wolves up 6-3 early in the third from Colling and Satosek, and Nick Seiler wrapped up the Wolves 7-3 win with a goal from Patrick Looby and Satosek.

Jason Hamilton faced 32 shots for the win in the Wolves net.
