Wolves lose 3-1 in Game 4

Petrolia took a stranglehold on the first-round Senior AA playoff series with a 3-1 win on Sunday in Ripley.

The Wolves carried the play for most of the game but missed the net with a lot of their shots and were stymied by the Petrolia goalie on many others. In their own end, Kurt Edwards was a rock, stopping 32 of 34 shots for the Wolves, who now trail the best-of-seven three games to one.

Ryan Armstrong scored Ripley’s only goal, tying the game at one early in the second. Assists went to Derek Regier and Tyler Soehner. Petrolia would net the game winner 10 minutes into the third and add an empty netter.

The Wolves look to stay alive on Friday night, at 8:30 p.m., down in Petrolia. Should they pull out a win to stay alive, they’ll return to Ripley on Sunday, Feb. 19, at 2:30 p.m.
