The Ripley Wolves lost two road games to teams they’re chasing in the standings on the weekend.

On Friday night, the Wolves travelled to Durham but struggled to kill penalties, giving up three powerplay goals and losing 6-4. Wolves goals were scored by Cody Britton (2), Brett Catto and Drew Davidson. Assists went to Catto (3), Davidson, Britton and Tyler McCarthy (2).

Jamie Bayley stopped 27 shots in the loss.

On Saturday, the Wolves travelled to Drayton to face the first-place Mapleton-Minto 81’s. Kurt Edwards got the start for the Wolves and faced a barrage of shots from the league leaders, while his offence couldn’t muster much in the way of pressure. The score finished 5-0 for the league leaders.

The Wolves welcome the rival Lucknow Lancers on Friday night, Dec. 18, at 8:30 p.m. Game sponsor is Lippert Trucking. The Wolves travel to Port Elgin on Saturday for an 8 p.m. game vs the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks, whom the Wolves are battling for fourth place in the standings.
