The Ripley Wolves bounced back from a Friday night loss to beat their cross-township rivals in Lucknow on Saturday night.

The Wolves, who lost 6-1 to Shallow Lake at home Friday, took it to the Lucknow Lancers on Saturday night and came away with a 7-3 win.

On Friday night, the Wolves just couldn’t get anything going against the Shallow Lake Crushers, who led 1-0 after one period and 4-0 after two. The only Ripley goal was scored by Kyle Gallant on an absolutely laser from the point on a powerplay in the third. The assist went to Jarred Colling.

Kurt Edwards stopped 33 shots in the loss.

Saturday was a different story, as the Wolves stormed out to a 3-0 lead in the first period on goals by Jeremy McQuillin (2) and Nathan Gavey. Assists went to Mark Stanley (3), Devin Kemp, Kurt Colling and Corey McCrae.

The Wolves scored a fourth in the first minute of the second period – this time it was Kemp from Alex MacLeod – before Lucknow scored two quick ones just minutes later two pull with two.

The Wolves then sealed the game with three goals before the midway mark of the third period with McQuillin completing his hat trick, Stanley adding a goal to go with his four assists on the night, and K. Colling netting his first. Assist went to Brian Stanley, Gavey, Kemp and M. Stanley.

The Lancers added a late powerplay goal to end the scoring, with the Wolves ahead 7-3.

Edwards stopped 26 shots for the win.
