This series has been everything we expected it to be.
After an unexpected blow-out in Game 1, the following three games have been decided in overtime. Last night, in Game 4 in Durham, it was Mark Stanley’s turn to be the hero when he scored halfway through the extra frame to give the visitors a 3-2 win and a 3-1 series lead.
After a scoreless first period, Durham came roaring out in the second, potting two goals in the first two minutes of the period. The Wolves didn’t allow the slow start to stop them, as Stanley responded, from his brother Brian, just three minutes later to make the score 2-1 for the home team.
The score remained that way until early in the third, when Jeremy McQuillin – who has been outstanding in these playoffs – tied it up, with Alex MacLeod getting the helper.
Kurt Edwards held the fort the rest of the way, en route to stopping 37 shots in regulation.
The Wolves can bring an end to the best series of the North Division’s first round with a win tonight at home. Puck drop is 7:30 p.m. The way this series is going, it is sure to be an exciting game, so come out and support the Wolves as they look to clinch a berth in the North Division semi-finals tonight!
Way to Go boys !! Stay focused and FINSH them off ! GO WOLVES GO !!! RR
